2012 Townsville Eisteddfod
The Cairns Junior Choral Society returned from their very successful trip to Townsville where they represented Cairns at the 2012 Townsville Eisteddfod.
Whilst only 21 members were available for the trip, the choir was still able to take out two Firsts one Third and one Highly Commended – even though some of their competition boasted up to 70 voices plus! They were also extremely happy and proud to win the Grade 10 and under Championship.
Here are just a few of the Adjudicator’s comments …
“Well done from such young choristers!”
“Excellent diction – A most effective performance!”
“Wonderfully costumed” (for the Novelty which was an excerpt from our recent musical, “Alice in Wonderland”)
“Blend and tone, excellent”
“Good attention to dynamics”
All in all it was a great trip, not just because of their success, but everyone, including the supervisors, had a fantastic time.
The children (and their conductor) would also like to make mention of, and THANK VERY MUCH, those parents who took the time to travel to Townsville to support us. It was JUST GREAT to see you all there. “Thank You!”
